Every time I use this I think "where have you been all my life?" This stuff is self adherent and leaves no adhesive goi behind. Ideal for electrical connections. If you don't get enough on the first wrap, cut off more and continue to wrap around, always stretching as you go. To remove, simply slice through and it will peel off. I can't recommend this more highly.Great adhesion. My brother is an arborist and last year, we had a beautiful 20' purple ash tree that was splitting at a crotch. He had me order this. He drilled a hole at the split and inserted a bolt, washers and tightly screwed on a nut. He then tightly wrapped the tree with this tape. Recently we took the wrap off and the tree is growing over the bolt and healing itself at the split. E are still keeping an eye on it, but it appears to be healing nicely. Don't leave the tape on more than 1 year.Great product, very comparable to what I used while I was in the US Air Force. The only thing that would be nice if it was a little bit more quality to the role. Next time I’ll order two rolls. If you want some tape that "melts" into itself this is the stuff. very stretchy and sticky (to itself). if you are looking for that kind of tape you have used somewhere in your life... this is it.I recently just did a front suspension rebuild on my 05 silverado, and used this on the tie rod & ball joint boots for some extra protection. I also used it on the tailgate latch pins so it doesn't keep banging around. Good stuff!Used it to fix all kinds of stuff. iPhone charger cables etc.How did I go so many years without this stuff in my shop, or in my car, or in my backpack? Every day I think of new ways to use this stuff.... for instance, today - I was filling a small spray bottle with bug repellent for my backpack, and I was concerned about the top coming unscrewed slightly causing a potential leak. Well, I pulled out my clear version of this same tape, and wrapped it around the top where it screws on, now I am confident it will hold.Yesterday, my weedeaters foam grip was cracking splitting - out comes the black Silicone tape to the rescue to provide a new grip for the handle. The day before, my tent pole plastic end cap was not staying on the pole, again, Silicone tape to the rescue. Then, when I was weedeating my lawn, I noticed my trusty outdoor electrical cord took a hit with either the weedeater or hedger, and had a couple of chunks of the outer sheathing missing. I used my Xtreme tape (in the Red color to match the cord ;-)) and it has been holding for weeks and about 4 uses, I don't see why it won't hold for a very long time.Next, both my backpacking and camping tent poles have vinyl or plastic ends on the poles - and after time these loosen up, want to come off and worse yet get lost! Well, not only does Xtreme tape fuse the tent pole ends to the pole, it also reinforces them and makes them stronger and more durable...Then, my 20 year old wheelbarrow's wood handles have taken a beating from years in the weather, and they showed a lot of cracking and the wood was very rough. I usually wore gloves when carrying heavy loads with the wheelbarrow, especially since the wood handles were so rough and I worried about getting splinters. I painted the handles with some acrylic latex, and then gave them a wrap with some 1.5" of the black Xtreme tape, and it did wonders. I overlapped the Extreme tape in close windings, so it created a thicker wrap since this was a heavier duty application. I did this almost a year ago, and it has held up fine outside in the AZ heat. I don't store the wheelbarrow in the direct, and I think the UV would wreak havoc. Now I feel like I don't need gloves to use the wheelbarrow. And then the big test - my garden hose had a pin-hole leak in it, and I applied this tape to it. The key is to make sure you extend the tape on either side of the hole by a few inches (I did three inches on each side of the hole) - and then make sure you stretch the tape very well and evenly around the hose. Also, make sure the hose is on a flat surface, and try to avoid flexing / bending the hose while taping, keep it as straight as possible. Also, give it at least two windings (not just one). It is working fine, if there are any issues I will update. You get it. This stuff is amazing. Once you wind it on itself it sticks like white on rice. Its resiliency is quite good - it is very tough and it will not come unwound unless you intentionally start to pull on the seam. Then, it will rip instead of lose its contact... it is that sticky to itself. The list goes on.... like I said, I keep finding more uses for it daily.I would say just get a roll, and keep it around. You will be amazed at the number of applications this stuff will satisfy.... an easy five star!!Thanks for reading. My outer boot(outer joint) in my truck cracked and grease was leaking. After speaking to a mechanic, he told me for my situation, it would take a long time before I'd noticed the vibration if I just leave it alone but I did not feel comfortable with this. The cost to replace the boot and repack the grease is almost as much as replacing the entire CV joint. I did not want to tear down the CV joint/boot and play with grease for an old car so decided to patch it up. I put some more grease in and use the tape and tightly wrap around the boot. So far its been holding up after several months(only been driving several hundred miles) driving in street and freeway. For good measure I use couple zip ties to prevent the possibility of the tape wrap coming off. May be this will hold up before I get rid of my car.Purchased this tape for my leaking drainpipe, it's a temporary fix until my usual plumber is available. While I read the reviews, some say it's the best thing and some would say its useless. I used it and sealed a pretty bad leak like instantly. Trick is... You need to pull/stretch/wrap at the same time for it to stick. If you don't pull it, it's completely useless. I would give this a 10 stars if I can.
