3M 1183 Tin-Plated Copper Foil Tape with Conductive Acrylic Adhesive includes a rolled copper foil backing plated with tin on both sides providing exceptional resistance to corrosion and oxidation for long term EMI/RFI shielding, grounding and static charge draining applications. 3M 1183 includes a conductive adhesive uniformly dispersed with conductive spheres for reliable point-to-point electrical contact. Tin-Plated Copper Foil Tape remains conductive after oxidation, use in the electrical and electronics industries for shielding small electromagnetic components, electronic cables and connectors. Rated for 600V dry applications. Meets flame spread requirement of UL 510.

I purchased this tape for its electrical conductivity. I bought this tape as an alternative to connecting solar cells without soldering. And it seems to work out just fine. The electrical current passes through the adhesive as promised. The resistance is mostly nominal, the more contact area you have with the adhesive, the less resistance there is. The adhesive is also quite strong, once you firmly press down on the tape, it is difficult to remove from the surface you are sticking it to. At least for me, the solar cells are quite fragile, so once you apply the tape, don't try to undo it, or the tape will destroy the cell. First day using this stuff, I got cut by it, beware of the sharp corners. Can't solder to the adhesive side, repels the solder, but can definitely solder to the topside. I definitely recommend this to someone who needs to make a super flat electrical connection. If you put an ohm meter up to the adhesive only, there is no reading. But once the adhesive is firmly pressed and adhered, the electrical connection across the adhesive is there and measurable.My only complaint is I wish this was available in different/thinner widths, and longer lengths. I find myself cutting it into strips because its too wide for my application.This tape is clearly cut down from a wider tape. One edge was clean and straight but the other edge was less clean. Sometimes the cut edge had a sort of conductive whisker that had to be ripped off. But apart from that it is a high quality product as you would expect from 3M. The adhesive is excellent and stuck well to a painted surface and a slightly texture polycarbonate surface.The adhesion is good and conductive with minimum pressure application. But the tape is a little too thick to provide a flat surface.Great products! Tinned copper foil works great. Shielded our handmade custom audio cables. After this we hope can increases sales rate of our product while also increasing villagers income and improve their quality of life. Thank youRoll looked like to was sitting around for a while. Slightly aged (maybe?). But, still had good adhesion and worked as a EMI shield.
