I was on the fence about trying this tape as it seemed the reviews were 50/50 on whether it worked as well as marketed. It’s also funny how the legal disclaimer, that the tape is only for commercial use and not for consumers, basically lets the company off the hook for any failures of the product experienced by Amazon customers. But I read advice on other forums by people who use this tape and also watched some videos, and that reassured me enough to give it a try.My project involved sandwiching some tempered glass panels in between painted wood frames that could not be routed for various reasons. However, heeding all the negative reviews, I did not depend solely on the tape and built the project with redundancies (aka over-engineering) that included silicone, adhesive, shims, and screws. I realize not all applications have that option, but in the hopes this can help someone, here are a few things I learned or did:—Prep your material. Bare wood needs to be sealed with primer or paint, then sanded lightly to scuff it up so it can grab. Glass needs to be clean.—The tape does not immediately stick (a good thing). I was able to quickly lift it and reposition if needed. A couple times when a panel was positioned incorrectly, I was able to quickly lift it off if only a corner had touched the tape. One time when an entire edge had to be lifted off, it was a little more difficult but was accomplished by wiggling back and forth.—Have some clamps or weights ready. To ensure contact, I pressed hard with a smooth tool over the length of the tape itself (after it was stuck onto the wood but before lifting off the top strip) and also all around the edge of the glass after it was placed on the tape. I even used weights in some areas. This seemed to help create a strong bond around each panel.—Be patient. Keeping in mind that the strongest adhesion would take 24-72 hours, I let the panels sit for that long. Now that they have been up for over a month, with no slippage, that waiting time seems to have been worth it.If there had been a greater percentage of positive reviews, or if there was not that ridiculous disclaimer, I would have been more trusting of this product. But I gave it a try and will likely use it again in the future (with fewer back-up contingencies) now that I have some experience with it.This tape is thinner than other, no-name brands but it still very easy to use.The picture is very misleading! You on get one small roll of tape, not the wide roll in the picture.Very good thickness for a shallow-cut channel.Good, but prep is extremely important... make absolutely certain the area is clean and has been given the once over with rubbing alcohol to ensure the best possible adhesion. Smooth surfaces like aluminum flashing may need to be lightly sanded prior to cleaning with rubbing alcohol Otherwise it will stick initially, and then fall off.Side note regarding types of alcohol: Isopropyl alcohol is perfectly fine for 99% of applications that recommend rubbing alcohol…biggest difference is in the additives that isopropyl evaporates faster… Note: Neither of these two types should ever be ingested, they are effectively poison by design. The consumable type of alcohol (in whiskey for example) is called ethanol (also known as ethyl alcohol also known as grain alcohol). If you’re looking for consumable alcohol, then go to liquor store… NEVER EVER ingest any product simply based on it containing alcohol (even if it specifically says ethanol, etc). Why? Because it’s also the additives that can hurt you, and you cannot know what those are or how dangerous they are… Just stick to bars and liquor stores if your looking for consumable alcohol. To drive this point a bit further: Did you know that even home-made moonshine can cause blindness or death if made incorrectly (and yes, that has happened).What a wonderful idea. It's just a shame the product failed me on all three tries. I have a four-plex and three of the apartments were empty. A great time to do a little remodeling. I wanted to put a 30in. white self just above the back of the toilets in three of the units. The tape seemed the perfect solution. I bought PVC board that was 3/4 x 1.5 inches. I cut 4 inch lengths to hold up the ends of the white board. One side was the tile wall and the other end was the wood vanity. I carefully cleaned the PVC, the tile and the wood side with alcohol. Let it dry thoroughly then applied (3) inch long pieces of the tape to each four inch PVC support. Like Scotch says, the tape either sticks or it doesn't and in all instances it stuck like contact cement-a good bond that was going nowhere. I let that sit for 24 hours before inserting the 30 in. white board for the shelf. All seemed wonderful.Almost a month later, two tenants moved into two of our apartments. Only a day passed, when one called and said, "I set a small 4x6in picture frame on the while shelf in the bathroom and later found it had collapsed from the tile side. The other said hers also collapsed on the tile side from the weight of an empty flower vase she wanted to decorate with.I was horrified. When I went to check them out, the gray Scotch tape had just wrinkled up and let go. How embarrassing and with hardly any weight compared to what it could have been. Well, I didn't wait for the third call from a tenant. I quickly got my trusty drill and tile bit and bored two holes through the PVC holder on the tile side in all three locations plus another screw through the wood vanity side for good measure!I was so embarrassed that it took so little weight for these to fail miserably. It went into water, into mud and attached objects are still firmly fixed. This tape is quite easy to remove.Awesome for sticking bits to drone chassis. Way way cheaper to buy it like this and cut it to size than buying the little pads.Got tape, did not work properly for me not as good as advertised.Works great on glass
