I was skeptical. I didn't know if this was hope or hype. I have both knees (MCL tears, tendinitis) and both shoulders with tendinitis and rotator cuff tears. I used braces and wraps of all kinds to no avail: they would either slide down, ride up or just not much support. I was so frustrated. I'm using canes to hobble around and a wheelchair if I need to go farther. This tape just arrived and after watching every youtube video on how to use it, why to use it, where to use it, when to use it...studying the anatomy of the knees and shoulders, I felt a little more knowledgeable about applying it.My first taping was the left MCL (my worst pain). I didn't prep the skin, it was just practice to get a feel for the tape. Rounded the corners of the tape with scissors so it wouldn't catch or pull up on clothes as easily. Placed the tape (with no stretch on start and finish ends) on my thigh, brought it across the MCL with high-stretch, and down across to the shin bone. Rubbed it and made sure everything heated up and lots of friction was applied. Let it set for about an hour. Got up to walk and the pain was reduced, the ligament was being supported! I was so surprised.Next I taped both knees for tendinitis and left shoulder for tendinitis (you can watch youtube videos to show you exactly how to use and place the tape for each specific area and problem. MCL took a lot of stretch to the tape for the support, tendinitis takes a lot of stretch in the tape, also. The muscle cramping and pulling of the muscles in my calves took a lighter stretch. Yes, I'm all taped up and it's helping. This is an excellent tape. It's stayed stuck for 24-plus hours on unprepared skin, helping support my weak areas (where braces and wraps failed), and was easy enough to apply after the learning-curve. I've also placed orders for other brands of tape...this was the first to arrive.Would I buy again? Yes! Would I recommend this? You betcha! My first-aid kit will never be without it. I also bought the pre-tape can of adhesive spray to use with the tapes for longer sticking times.Basically effective as I can attest. I had considerable discomfort with gastrocnemius, soleus, and tib-ant. I self applied the Muller K tape and I went from not being able to jog to jogging. I'd say that is about all you can ask.I gave 3 stars because the Mueller tape is overly sensitive to sticking everywhere including your hands while applying it. This is not so bad when applying it to another body. However, my usage is largely self application and it is taxing to get it right with Mueller tape. I had to cut off and toss several little pieces because they so quickly rolled up on the band as I was applying. This tape is NOT waterproof and is not good if you apply with any sweat present. Get area very dry and then apply.Okay, that said Muller tape can be had for very decent prices. I am going to try Rock Tape and K Tape next.I love this product. It really helps my knee pain and I also have been using it for plantar fascitis. I wish it stuck a little better. I have been able to shower with it on and sometimes it stays on for a few days. Other times it starts to unpeel within a day. Overall, worth a try for anyone needing tape. Have not tried any of the other brands to make a comparison. It stays on well, and tight, gives me supportMay be mental but tape made a difference in relief of pain in knee. Hardly knew it was on my leg .Product was recommended to us by my husbands chiropractor. He said it was the kind he used and ordered it off Amazon. It is helping his knee somewhat. Surprised because we did not think tape like this would work. This stuff has saved the tattered remnants of my tragic sports career. Now, I can continue to badly play just about any sport and know that as I hobble off the field, I have this stuff to look forward to. ;)This tape is definately worth trying. Some of hte reiews discuss the stickiness....I have not had any problems If you stretch the tape appropriately (based on injry), it will last 3-4 days.
