It's exactly what is said it is.Fairly thin and hard to get the paper off one side.I've been using VHB Tape, ever since it was first introduced, it's really great stuff! Watch 3M‘s video pulling a train car with this stuff... If that doesn't convince you, nothing I write here will. Do be aware that it does have a shelf life, if you purchase a big roll. I think it's still maybe something like 18 months, (maybe 24). But should not be an issue with small rolls like this.UPDATE:I just opened up this roll for one of my many waiting projects on my list. I was expecting the same VHB tape that I had purchased and used in the past.I ordered this roll, 'not knowing' that 3M was manufacturing different grades, and thicknesses of this tape.This roll was 'not' what I had purchased in the past. This roll was 'a lot' thinner than what I used before, really, nearly 'paper thin'.You have to read the descriptions 'very carefully' on these!The RP45 is their strongest version of this tape. It comes in various widths, (and lengths), and the thicknesses are shown in inches, fractions, decimals, and mm, depending on the seller.It pays to take a few minutes to do whatever calculations needed to make sure you get the right thickness desired for your project.I used it to see if I could replicate a water tight seal on a ip68 phone I had dropped and cracked. Replaced the screen and used this everywhere possible between the frame and replacement screen. Definitely not saying go do this but in my case I threw the bastard in the pool and even tested it in semi hot water with some steam and no water got in.... Maybe I'm just lucky or maybe I finally found adhesive worth a sh#$ to use on phones that usd to have an IP rating that had a back or screen replaced. Just as a adhesive it's fantastic the rest is just a bonus until my tossing into pool experiments and up killing my phonesWe put in shelves using wall standards and brackets on the wall of our combination laundry/pantry area. The melamine shelves butt up against a stacked washer and dryer, so to prevent anything from rolling off against the washer and dryer (before I could encase the washer and dryer in a mini wall panel), I figured a lip of some sort would help keep items on the shelves. Knowing melamine's resistance to glues, 3M VHB tape was the easiest choice to attached PVC lath strips to the edges. The tape has held solid for six months now. The stuff is thick and very sticky. Pretty much a one time deal, so you need to be sure of the location before peeling and sticking the double sided tape.I'm using this to attach aluminum angle to polycarbonate twinwall for a small greenhouse in areas where the tape will not be visible. In areas where it will be visible through clear polycarbonate, I'm using 3M VHB 4905, which is clear.I've used 3M's household adhesive tapes in the past, and they work well. This tape is a whole other level of adhesion. Great stuff.Used it to attach carbon fiber trim to my car. It’s the perfect thickness with excellent adhesion. If it was any shorter (5 yards) I would have been in trouble!I was trying to replace some foam mounting pads, and had expected the foam part of this tape to be a bit thicker. Sticks well, though -- no complaints there.I was expecting far more greater adhesion considering this is original 3M tape.The only good thing about this is that it is very durable and the adhesion, while it is mediocre, seems to last much longer than cheaper alternatives.Unless this 5 yd roll is under £2, I would recommend against buying it.Arrived promptly. But not very stickyTape roll is deformed and looks old and dried up. The tape layers have separated apart and the roll has clearly not been treated well. It does not look suitable for use.I was trying to find a tape that would stick to a windshield. Now where close. It is 2mm wide and doesn’t stick to anything.
